Homework for this week:

• Math Sheet on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators
• Book Report (Each student has a rubric for this). In class and at home assignment.
• Achieve 3000 1 article and activity

This week we are working on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. I assigned a tutorial on discovery education which can be accessed from home. We are continuing our study of Fantasy text and writing a book report on our book from Book Club. In Social Studies, we are working on Westward Expansion. We are also starting a 4C"s project on "Building Roller coasters".

Good morning and welcome back to 3rd Quarter!! Today ~my 32nd Birthday is also my track in.

I work with the greatest team and love the coffee and treats they gave me this morning in our meeting with the Culture Artist in Resident we will have in February. Mrs. Shannon Newby is awesome and has a beautiful Coral Reef display in Marbles behind the Submarine. We are so lucky to have her for all 5th graders to participate in a legacy project.

P.S. We will need a parent volunteer for the week of Feb 12, 13, 15, &17th from 12:20-1:20. Please email me if you can help Mrs. Newby with this amazing art project!

I am also looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday. Please be prepared and ready to focus as we are more than halfway to 6th grade. I will have to be a little more stern and require a little more at home practice in order to be sure you are prepared for the rigor of Middle School. I also have Case 21 scores back, if you email me. I will send them to you.
